Built across SADC. For Africa.

Where the seed listens back.

Sowa is a crop-aware farm intelligence platform for Africa, tuned across SADC. Every zone, every sensor, every crop and every rand in one place, so a smallholder or a commercial grower can see what the field is doing, and what to do next.

Farmer-first (low-literacy mode, voice) Grounded, every answer cites its evidence Runs even when the cloud is offline
What Sowa does

A working memory for your farm.

Every farm already has data. The sky, the soil, the calendar, the worker's eye. What most farms don't have is a place where all of it lives together, argues with itself, and produces one clear next step. Sowa is that place. Sense, understand, act, on every zone, every day.

01

Sense the field

Soil probes at shallow and deep depths, air readings, tank levels, chemistry (NPK, pH, EC), rain forecast. All bound to zones, not devices, so reassigning a probe leaves history intact.

02

Understand the crop

Every planting registers its crop, variety and seed manufacturer. Sowa pulls variety-specific agronomy (N/P/K/pH/EC ideal bands per growth stage) and knows exactly what your hybrid at Day 45 needs.

03

Act with confidence

Advisories carry a state (Open, Ack, Snoozed, Resolved) and a signed action log. Emergency stop is always one tap away. Notifications reach the farmer even when the app is not open.

What Sowa gives you

Nine ways to know your farm.

Sowa is not nine apps. It is one farm brain with nine senses. Register a crop and Sowa learns what your variety wants. Log a pick and the yield picture updates. Rain shows up in the forecast and Sowa whispers "hold the next cycle". Every part feeds the next.

Live

Field sense

Every probe watches its zone by name, not by serial number. Move a sensor across the season and the field's memory moves with it.

Your field, remembered.
Live

Living advice

When something needs your attention, Sowa speaks up. When you handle it, Sowa remembers. Every alert carries its full story from open to done.

Nothing forgotten.
Live

The weekly picture

See what your farm actually did this week. Where the water went, what needed you, what took longest to fix. Simple enough to trust, deep enough to act on.

One page. Whole week.
Live

Rain-aware watering

Sowa watches the sky for you. When rain is on the way it whispers "save the pump this cycle". Your water bill drops. Your crop wins.

Let the sky do the work.
Live

Every pick counts

Record a harvest in seconds, right in the field, in the unit you use. Kilograms, crates, bunches, heads. Sowa turns picks into yield per hectare, season by season.

From field to ledger.
Live

Farm profit, plain

Revenue from what you sold, minus what you spent, split zone by zone. Finally see which crop actually paid you back and which is quietly costing you.

Money that tells the truth.
AI

Nutrients tuned to variety

Register the exact variety you planted and Sowa knows what it needs at every stage. Your live soil chemistry is compared against the ideal, and Sowa tells you when to feed.

Know what your crop wants.
AI

Pest and disease guard

Sowa watches the risk factors that bring pests: humidity after rain, vulnerable growth stages, the sensitivities of the variety in the ground. Early warning arrives before damage does.

Warn before it bites.
AI

Ask Sowa

Ask anything about your farm in plain language. "How is my Corvo?" "When do I harvest?" "What should I plant after tomatoes?" Real answers, tied to your real field.

Your agronomist in the pocket.
Built for the region

SADC first. Africa next.

Sowa is designed around the reality of farming across the Southern African Development Community. Clay-loam soils, seasonal rainfall, borehole and municipal water, mixed literacy, real budgets. The agronomy engine, the language pack and the money flow all understand this. Everything else in Africa is next.

Origin story

One valley farm. One hectare. One dream.

Sowa began on a one-hectare valley farm, a family plot that carries the same challenges as thousands of smallholder farms across the region. Every screen, every advisory rule, every AI answer has been shaped by the reality of that plot first, then generalised outward. The dream started small so the platform stays honest.

Founder pilot · one hectare · four zones

Four zones. Four crops. One honest ledger.

Existing tomatoes at Day 45. Corvo brassica at Day 30 approaching harvest. An onion nursery just past emergence. New tomatoes transplanted last week. Sowa knows each of them by variety, watches each of them by zone, and answers questions about them in the farmer's language.

How Sowa thinks

Sense. Remember. Think. Act.

Nothing is thrown away. Nothing is invented. When the network drops, Sowa keeps the field safe on its own. When the connection returns, everything catches up. Farmers stay in control at every step.

01 · SENSE
Zone-bound eyes

Soil at shallow and deep. Air and humidity. Chemistry, tank level, rainfall. Each sensor tied to a zone by name, so the field's story survives every swap.

02 · REMEMBER
Nothing is lost

Every reading, every alert, every pick, every payment. Kept in a way you can trust and prove. Your farm's memory is yours, forever.

03 · THINK
The farm brain

Weather, chemistry, calendar, crop stage, variety, all reasoned together. When Sowa speaks, it is always because your farm asked.

04 · ACT
Farmer last word

One tap to acknowledge on the zone card. Emergency stop always a press away. Voice narration for the Farmer mode so no one is left behind.

Design principles

Premium is restraint, not decoration.

Sowa is the tool an African smallholder deserves and the tool a commercial grower recognises as world-class. The bar is: this should make a farmer say "wow, this is it."

Grounded, not guessed

Every answer cites the exact reading, rule or record it used. The AI paths label their source ("grounded in your farm", "general knowledge") so nothing is confused.

Farmer-last-word

Sowa suggests. The farmer decides. Emergency stop, one-tap resolve, and voice read-back are always present. No advisory ever changes the field on its own.

Never invent state

The AI never claims a moisture reading or a harvest window. It reads structured farm-state JSON and can only paraphrase what is already true.

Two modes, one truth

Full mode for the operator with a laptop. Farmer mode for the person with a phone in the field. Same data, two utterly different UIs.

Languages

Sowa ships in English, chiShona and isiNdebele. Afrikaans, Setswana, chiChewa / chiNyanja, ciBemba and Português are next.
